Community Market Associate, Year-round, Part-time

Reports To: Market Operations Manager

Location: Local Markets and Fairs (Greater Seattle Area)

Hours: Flexible (weekends included)

Pay: $20/hr + tips

Overview:

This role involves setting up and managing booths at local markets to promote and sell Cognitive Function’s mushroom-based wellness products. We are looking for passionate individuals who believe in the power of alternative medicine and are eager to represent a wellness brand committed to transparency. As a market vendor, you’ll engage customers, share our story, and promote our range of products, all while delivering an exceptional experience that reflects our brand’s values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Booth setup and breakdown

  • Customer engagement and product education

  • Sales and payment processing

  • Maintain booth cleanliness and alignment with eco-friendly practices

  • Set up and manage the market booth at local wellness events

  • Educate customers on our mushroom-based products and their benefits

  • Foster genuine connections with customers by sharing our story and mission

  • Handle product sales, payments, and inquiries with integrity

  • Maintain a welcoming, well-organized booth and ensure all materials are aligned

  • Skills & Qualifications:

  • Interest in natural wellness and ethical products

  • Previous experience in customer service or sales

  • Strong communication and independent work skills

Farmers Market Associate

The Bangalore kitchen is a small family business started by two food loving people who want popularize the regional cuisine of Karnataka to Seattle. To make this vision come true, we have a stall at the Ballard farmers market with a simple fixed menu of dosas, and khara bath and kesari bath. We also have rotating specials to introduce different foods.

The Ballard farmers market is a fun and one of the biggest farmers markets in Seattle. It is also a year round market. As we move into a busy summer season we are looking for farmers market associates. 

Responsibilities can vary on a weekly basis depending on staffing and the various challenges a pop-up may be prone to. 

Ideal candidates would

  • Have a fun personality who likes to interact with colleagues and customers alike

  • Be a problem solver since every market day is unique with different challenges

  • Have some experience in the food industry

  • Need to be available from 8:30-2:30 on every Sunday 

Special skills that we are looking for include

  • ticket management : organize incoming tickets and convey orders to grill masters

  • Manage dosa delivery to waiting customers 

Bonus if you have experience with ticket management in another establishment.

Sales Associate duties requires you to work in a booth standing 5-6 hours, and responsibilities include working closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about our products and recommend the right products. You should be able to promptly resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction. To be successful as a Sales associate, you should stay up-to-date with product features and maintain our store’s visual appearance in high standards. Ultimately, the duties of a sales associate are to achieve excellent customer service, while consistently meeting the store’s sales goals.
