Open since 2000, The Ballard Farmers Market is Seattle's first year-round neighborhood farmers market selling produce exclusively from Washington state farmers.
The Market has operated along the historic cobblestone stretch of Ballard Avenue NW between Vernon Place and 22nd Avenue. In the spring of 2016, the Market expanded onto 22nd Avenue, extending to NW Market Street. In the fall of 2023 the Ballard Farmers Market expanded once again, extending down Ballard Ave NW, to 20th Ave NW.
We hope you will visit us soon and plan to spend the day exploring one of the gems of Seattle.
The Ballard Farmers Market is open every Sunday, rain or shine, year-round from 9:00 AM - 2:00PM.
We are only closed if Sunday falls on Christmas Day.
You will find parking on the surrounding streets, and on Sundays all meters are free. Ballard Farmers Market is centrally located for buses, bikes and foot traffic.

What Gleaning is and Why it is Important
Gleaning is the process of collecting excess produce from farmers markets that would otherwise go to waste.
Farmore WA partners with Sustainable Ballard, Family Works, and For All to collect this excess food every Sunday at the Ballard market and seasonally at the Wallingford, and Madrona markets.
This food is then delivered to those in need and to local food banks, including the Ballard Food Bank and Family Works Food Bank.
Please reach out to Sustainable Ballard if you are interested in making a impact and volunteering for this incredibly important program.
Ballard Farmers Market Vendor Spotlights
“Why the Ballard Farmers Market is the Best in Seattle”
Check out the incredible write up about the Ballard Farmers Market from the Seattle Times written by Tat Bellamy-Walker
Here is a short blurb from the piece:
Colin Barricklow, who co-owns Kirsop Farm in Rochester, Thurston County, with his wife, Genine Bradwin, travels 90 miles to downtown Ballard every week to sell fresh vegetables, lambskins, smoked bacon and pork chops.
“Ballard is sort of the Holy Grail,” Barricklow said, adding that he enjoys interacting with regular customers and the bond among the vendors. “It’s the best market that we do.”
The piece highlights Ballard Farmers Market favorites like Kirsop Farm, Skagit River Ranch, Ayako & Family, R’Sential Candles, Bow Hill Blueberries, and more.
